How to use

The GM1 IgG Autoantibody test—also referred to as Anti-GM1 IgG or anti‑ganglioside GM1 IgG—provides a qualitative determination of IgG class autoantibodies to GM1 in serum. It is used when assessment of autoantibodies against ganglioside targets is indicated. Testing is performed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and reported qualitatively.

Limitations

GM1 (monosialotetrahexosylganglioside) is a defined ganglioside antigen, and this assay evaluates IgG autoantibodies directed against that target in serum. The method is enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and results are qualitative. Findings are interpreted in conjunction with clinical assessment and other laboratory data as appropriate.
