  • For children 1–5 years old, withhold food for 2–3 hours before blood draw.
  • Adults should fast for 8 hours prior to collection; water is permitted.
  • Avoid strenuous activity and minimize emotional stress for at least 30 minutes before collection.
  • Do not smoke or use tobacco within 30 minutes before the sample is taken.

Eritropoetin (EPO) testi, epoetin yoki eritropoetin gormon darajasi deb ham ataladi, aylanayotgan EPO ni anemiya yoki politsitemiyaning darajasi bilan taqqoslash orqali anemiya va eritrotsitozning diagnostik bahosini qo‘llab-quvvatlaydi. U suyak iligi supressiyasi tufayli anemiyani endogen EPO yetishmovchiligi sababli anemiyadan farqlashga yordam beradi va surunkali buyrak kasalligida buyrakning EPO sekretsion quvvatini baholashda qo‘llanadi.
