Mikroskopiya bilan umumiy siydik tahlili — klinik siydik tahlili yoki to‘liq siydik tahlili deb ham ataladi — siydikdagi g‘ayritabiiyliklarni aniqlash hamda buyrak kasalliklari, siydik yo‘llari infeksiyasi, siydik yo‘llari neoplazmalari, buyrak ishtirokidagi tizimli kasalliklar va siydik yo‘llariga tutash yallig‘lanish yoki neoplastik jarayonlarni diagnostika va boshqarishda yordam berish uchun qo‘llanadi. Tadqiqot buyrak va siydik yo‘llari kasalliklarini keng qamrovli baholash va differensial diagnostika; suv-elektrolit va metabolik buzilishlarni baholash; infeksion va yallig‘lanish holatlarini baholash; hamda davolash samaradorligini baholash, shu jumladan perioperatsion yoki terapevtik monitoring uchun qo‘llanadi.
